Creating Your Card
What size photo do I need to upload?
Your photo should be at least 2.25″ x 3.75″ and 250 dpi or more. We recommend a photo that is 2.5″ x 4″ to allow you room to adjust the image.
Can I include more than one photo?
We recommend just sharing one photo of yourself. If you would like to include more, you can create a collage of images with a free tool like Canva, and then upload that image into your design.
What contact info should I include?
We suggest including your email address or phone number. A social media handle can work too, just know that some people might not have an account to contact you through.
Can I exclude my contact info?
If you prefer to keep your personal contact information private, we suggest creating a new email account that’s only used for your Match Me Cards®.
Giving out Your Card
Who should I give my cards to?
We suggest giving your card to friends, family, and trusted acquaintances. Basically, your matchmakers can be anyone who you respect and believe will keep your best interests in mind.
How many printed cards should I give to people?
Start with one, and if they ask for more (this often happens!), then we suggest giving them anywhere from 2-5 cards depending on the type of the relationship you have with that person.
Can I give my card directly to someone I'd like to date?
Absolutely. If you meet someone you’d like to date and you feel confident enough to give them your card, we say go for it!
Should I be concerned about my privacy?
Match Me Cards® was designed with your privacy in mind, which is why we recommend the following when creating your cards:
1. Include only one photo
2. Share just your first name
3. Provide contact info that’s secure
Talking to Your Matchmakers
How do I ask someone to be my matchmaker?
This part is unique to you, but we do have a few recommendations:
1. Tell them you are trying a new tool for dating and give them your Match Me Cards®.
2. Let them know why you have chosen them to be a matchmaker for you.
3. Explain that this is not a “job” for them, it’s just a reminder to be on the lookout for you, and the OK to connect you to someone who might be a good fit.
4. Tell them what type of person you are looking for, and any dealbreakers. (Think about these in advance, and consider what really matters.)
5. Thank them for being your matchmaker!
What if they're worried they'll make a "bad" match?
Reassure your matchmakers that you’re looking for better dating experiences… not perfection. It is possible that you’ll be connected with people who aren’t a fit, but actual “bad” dates are less likely.
Should I tell my matchmakers about my dates?
It’s nice to let your matchmakers know if you went on a first date with someone they connected you with. You don’t need to share all the details, but if it wasn’t a fit, give them feedback for next time.
